John Paul Lederach was recently featured on public radio’s Speaking of Faith in an episode entitled, “The Art of Peace”. Lederach, who is now a professor of conflict transformation at Notre Dame, was part of the design team for this organization and argued successfully at its inception for its name to be “JustPeace”.

A close friend of JustPeace passed away last week at the age of 89. Elise Boulding, who served on the JustPeace advisory committee, was a giant leader in the peace movement and instrumental in founding the academic discipline of Peace and Conflict Studies.

Invictus – The Sequel

As my heart was being warmed by this generous movie, with its superb performances by Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon, I remembered the second half of this drama, which played out in South Africa in 1997 and 1998. This was an equally important occasion, but much harder to film for Hollywood.
