As part of JustPeace’s 10th Anniversary event, Bishop Hope Morgan Ward opened the day with a reflection about the importance of circles. She shares stories and gives insights about the circle process and how its use can transform situations and promote openness and dialogue.

This is the sixth installment of a 10-video series that JustPeace is producing around the release of Tom Porter’s book, The Spirit & Art of Conflict Transformation: Creating a Culture of JustPeace.

The circle process a great gift to the Church as it evokes the best of our theology, recognizes the importance of ritual and sacred space and time, emphasizes the significance of relational covenants, encourages deep listening and respectful speaking from
the heart, moves us away from parliamentary procedure to consensus decision‐making, creates an empowering servant or stewardship understanding of leadership, and focuses us on the mission of reconciliation, healing relationships and creating community.
