We’re excited to announce that JustPeace has joined the #GivingTuesday movement. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday inspires people to take collaborative action to give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
Taking place on December 1st, 2015 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday was created to use the power of social media to generate national appreciation around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
You can be part of #GivingTuesday by supporting JustPeace in vital conflict transformation ministries as we:
- partner with young people and women in East Congo to connect and strengthen their peacebuilding efforts.
- support young people in our churches be peacemakers in their communities through resources in faith-based conflict transformation and restorative practices.
- work with church leaders to understand the intersection of cultural competency and conflict transformation.
- help congregations understand the impact of trauma in their communities and how they can be in ministry with first responders, veterans and military families.
Your Donation will be matched!
The Stead’s continue to challenge us to invest in ministries that make a difference. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of JustPeace, all donations for this year’s #GivingTuesday will be generously matched $1 for $1 up to $150,000 by Jerre and Mary Joy Stead.
How you can get involved
If JustPeace is important to you and the impact it has on how we live our lives and ministry together, please consider giving. As a reminder, we are a denominational resource but funded independently and so rely on your gifts to help us continue this vital work of engaging well and justly.
Please consider marking your calendars for Tuesday, Dec 1st and help us reach our goal of $150,000.
